SF 49ers: 5 things fans can be thankful for in 2020

No. 4: SF 49ers have a strong core for 2021
It would be one thing if the Niners were pegged for a long and lengthy rebuild like they were in 2017 when Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch took over.
Despite having a plethora of key pending free agents whose contracts are set to expire in 2021, Shanahan and Lynch still have one of the most talented core groups to build around in the coming seasons.
Each one of these players is under contract through 2021:
- TE George Kittle
- EDGE Nick Bosa
- LB Fred Warner
- WR Brandon Aiyuk
- RB Raheem Mostert
- WR Deebo Samuel
- DE Arik Armstead
- DT Javon Kinlaw
Armstead, drafted in 2015, is the elder statesman of that group. The rest are still on the ascent and are the caliber of players teams would love to build around.
If there was a dearth of talent in San Francisco, fans would have every right to feel gloomy this Thanksgiving.
But each one of those players will be essential in getting the SF 49ers back on track in 2021.
