Niner Noise looks at five NFL Draft prospects the SF 49ers must consider in 2021.

While it would be an exaggeration to suggest the SF 49ers are waving the white flag on the 2020 season, there is a growing pessimism the team has the ability to match it with the NFC elite in the playoff race.

While the 4-5 Niners have played tough football, it’s clear they have too many injuries to keep up with the likes of the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks. The powerful New Orleans Saints are up next in Week 10, and a loss there might be one too many for the team to recover.

Some may find it too early to be talking about the 2021 NFL Draft, but it’s never too early to take a look at the prospects in the 2021 draft class. The modified college season makes it an interesting task to scout talent this year, but nonetheless, there have been some impressive players who have caught the eyes of the media.

This season could very well be a blessing in disguise, not unlike when injury caused the SF 49ers to fall low enough in 2018 that they were able to take EDGE Nick Bosa with the No. 2 pick the following year.

Ironically, an injury to Bosa was the start of a long string of injuries that have caused the Niners to be in this predicament at the moment.

So, with the SF 49ers teetering off the edge of the proverbial cliff for 2020, it’s time to look at the prospects they could consider to have them back in the running for Super Bowl contention in 2021 and beyond.
