Round 7: SF 49ers Wide Receiver Jauan Jennings

JAUAN JENNINGS. D+. . Wide Receiver. San Francisco 49ers

Perhaps this doesn’t make much sense: wide receiver Jauan Jennings getting an improvement in his halfway grades over the D-minus he received at the first-quarter mark.

Especially considering the SF 49ers haven’t promoted him off the practice squad after a pretty abysmal training camp despite all the needs they’ve had at wide receiver over the first nine games of the season.

San Francisco instead chose to promote other wideouts, including River Cracraft and Kevin White, although one can see why those two have bona fide NFL-level experience and are nowhere close to the level of rawness Jennings is at.

So, perhaps that makes sense.

But what helps Jennings’ stock value increase only so slightly is the fact the SF 49ers are still retaining him on the practice squad for continued development.

They haven’t given up on his raw talents just yet, and that’s a good sign.
