SF 49ers must call these 4 free-agent QBs after Jimmy Garoppolo injury

SF 49ers Quarterback Target No. 3: Chad Kelly
Again, there aren’t going to be too many high-quality options here. But one name who might ring a bell is former Denver Broncos quarterback Chad Kelly, who was Mr. Irrelevant for being the final pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
A two-year starter out of Ole Miss, Kelly at least has the pedigree of going up against some tough competition within the SEC, making him a bit more experienced against high-level players back during his collegiate heyday years.
Kelly was known for his gunslinger mentality, which could be enough to push someone like Nick Mullens or C.J. Beathard during practices. But what might help him, should he be signed and find himself on the field somehow, is a knack for thriving off play action, which the SF 49ers will assuredly do a lot more with Jimmy Garoppolo out of the picture.
It’s also important to note Kelly has some nice scrambling abilities, too, marked by his 841 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground in two years at Ole Miss.
That would give Kyle Shanahan an element none of his quarterbacks have truly flashed in San Francisco.
As far as reclamation projects go, Kelly might be the best possibility.
