Loser: SF 49ers’ Health

I’ll keep this quick because no one wants to have to think about injuries after a victory, but like every SF 49ers game this year, there was a heavy cost.

Deebo Samuel, who was getting running back tosses, strained his hamstring, taking him out for two weeks. Jeff Wilson’s high-ankle sprain will cost him a month, and wide receiver Richie James Jr. had an injury of his own.

It’s a clear and unfortunate trend that for every step forward they take, and they took several forward last Sunday, the injury bug makes them jump two steps back. The season has become a war of attrition, and hopefully the SF 49ers can make it out in the playoffs and with enough players to make some noise.

For now it’s onto the Seattle Seahawks with a chance to make the NFC West a very winnable race once more.
