No. 3: You just don’t stop SF 49ers’ George Kittle

There are just not enough superlatives to express when it comes to just how much tight end George Kittle simply dominates the game of football.

There will be countless articles about the plays he’s produced that have become instant classics or will be instant classics, and there have been such articles written about him already.

We already know how good he is, so I’ll skip past his seven catches for 109 yards and a touchdown.

Actually, we won’t skip the touchdown. Let’s take a look at it:

It’s 4th-and-2, the Rams keep five players in coverage and then send the rest of the kitchen sink right into Jimmy Garoppolo.

Last week, Garoppolo faded under pressure. He did not do so here.

But there’s the impressive thing. In such a situation, everybody and their dog knows the ball is going to Kittle. The defenders know it’s going to Kittle. Garoppolo knows he’s going to throw it to Kittle. Kittle knows it’s going to Kittle.

The ball went to Kittle.

He breaks free from an ineffectual tackle and takes it for a touchdown. Bam, 14-0 to the SF 49ers, and the Rams never truly were a threat from that moment.

It’s amazing how he can make plays even if teams want to stop him. It just cannot be done.
