No. 2: SF 49ers offensive line will step up and keep their quarterback clean against a bad pass rush
Jimmy Garoppolo was sacked three times against the Cardinals. A couple could be pinned on the quarterback, but it’s also up to the offensive line to protect their guy.
Against the Jets, they should have no problem living up to expectations.
Once Garoppolo and his O-line have more reps under their belt in real-game situations, we’ll see the old offense we came to love in 2019: The high octane, never-know-what’s-next Kyle Shanahan offense.
The Jets pass rush is subpar. It should give Garoppolo a chance to stay in the pocket and find his open receivers, which was admittedly a problem in game one.
Look for Garoppolo to be more on time with his throws and using all his reads while he hangs out behind his O-line.
