No. 2: SF 49ers’ Jimmy Garoppolo can’t be afraid to get mobile

The Cardinals, while an OK pass-rushing unit, aren’t really striking fear into many quarterbacks around the league, as EDGE Chandler Jones is their only real big-body threat on the defensive front.

Luckily, the Niners recently pulled off one the savviest offseason trades following the retirement of their longtime star left tackle, Joe Staley, trading for superstar left tackle Trent Williams.

Did you know the last time Williams went head to head with Jones, he allowed only a single QB pressure for the entire game? That should put some of Jimmy Garoppolo’s worries to rest when it comes to utilizing his legs in the backfield following the removal of his knee brace, which he was forced to wear for the entirety of 2019 following his gruesome ACL tear the year prior.

The Cardinals are probably not expecting Jimmy G to scramble much, so doing so will definitely throw them off and force them to ad-lib much more than expected.

Look for Garoppolo to return to his pre-injury form and show off his ability to maneuver in the backfield and extend plays with his legs this Sunday.
