SF 49ers: 9 CFL players John Lynch should consider for 2020

No. 5: Ranthony Texada didn’t even play a down in the CFL, but he could be a steal for the SF 49ers
Defensive back Ranthony Texada could win the award for “quickest player to sign and then opt out of a CFL contract.” But his opting-out from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers came with more than just wanting an NFL opportunity:
With the 2020 CFL season being cancelled this year, i have decided to take a leap of faith and opt out of my contract to pursue NFL/XFL opportunites. My body of work speaks for itself , and I believe i have what it takes to compete with the best! https://t.co/yNNkY5mlZ4 pic.twitter.com/Hdt6272piG

With the XFL getting a new life thanks to former Calgary Stampeder Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Texada was the first player to mention the new league, according to 3DownNation.
In his highlight reel, Texada plays a tremendous cover game. Tight and physical to the receiver which could help in a division full of talent on the corners. He already has a bit of NFL experience with Washington and is fresh off playing with the New York Guardians of the XFL.
The obvious drawback to Texada would be if he doesn’t make the main roster but is offered a practice squad spot. Does he accept or jet off to the XFL where a starting gig might be more possible?
