49ers Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo

Some may not like the placement of franchise quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo at this spot on our list, but it’s actually quite generous. This isn’t to say Jimmy G isn’t a great quarterback, but rather he simply has to show a little more on the field this year to move up this list, as pretty much everyone in front of him is considered elite at their respective positions.

Garoppolo stepped up in 2019 following his 2018 season-ending ACL-tear. He finished top five in passing touchdowns, completion percentage, game-winning drives and wins. Jimmy G also has dead-eye accuracy as he finished with a 69.1 completion percentage last season and will surely continue to hone his play-action skills this year.

He definitely silenced the army of doubters who didn’t think he was deserving of his big-money extension with the franchise following the 2017 season.

Garoppolo’s development as a quarterback will be crucial to the team’s success this coming season, and it is hard to believe that the team would be as good with most other gun-slingers. His 102.0 passer rating in 2019 shows he definitely isn’t an average player at his position.

Look for Garoppolo to take another big step this year and justify his place on our list.
