No. 1: Kyle Shanahan reunited with his favorite blocker, Trent Williams
With the fourth pick in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft, a left tackle out of Oklahoma was taken, he is now a member of your San Francisco 49ers, Trent Williams.
Williams was drafted when Kyle Shanahan was the offensive coordinator with the Washington Redskins. Shanahan has now, effectively, helped draft Williams twice and has the best left tackle in the NFL on his team for the second time in his career.

Williams has been to seven Pro Bowls from 2012 through to, and including 2018. Williams sat out the 2019 season due to contractual problems with his previous team, wich only stands to benefit the Niners with regards to his health and longevity.
Williams has a career pressure rate of under three percent, whilst in his last two seasons played, he has given up a combined two sacks. Joe Staley had a career pressure rate of just over three percent. The 49ers are getting an upgrade whilst getting younger at left tackle.
You don’t think Shanahan will want to use his new toy as much as possible? The first play in training camp in offense versus defense will be a toss or outside-zone run to the left behind Williams, along with George Kittle and fullback Kyle Juszczyk.
Doesn’t that sound fun? Well not for opposition defenses, but that’s the whole point!
Williams will show throughout training camp when going up against Nick Bosa, Dee Ford and Arik Armstead, why he is without question, the best-left tackle in the NFL.
