2021 NFL Draft: 5 prospects 49ers should watch early on

49ers Target No. 2: Defensive Back Andre Cisco, Syracuse
Again, the Niners could experience a lot of turnover within their secondary heading into 2021, and it wouldn’t be shocking at all to see a number of players changed out for younger, cheaper options in the upcoming NFL Draft.
San Francisco re-signed veteran safety Jimmie Ward to a new deal during the offseason, but Jaquiski Tartt could still walk. And while there’s the possibility Richard Sherman moves down towards the box, it’s just as equal a possibility the 49ers are faced with the need to bring aboard someone else on a rookie deal.
Perhaps someone like Syracuse’s Andre Cisco.
As far as ballhawking skills, Cisco has them, boasting a whopping 12 interceptions his last two seasons with the Orange. His 6-foot-0, 203-pound frame doesn’t adequately describe the level of physicality he uses on the field. Cisco is rangy, tough and doesn’t mind getting himself around the ball at every occasion.
Putting him down in the box as a strong safety might limit his interception capabilities. But he’s capable of playing multiple spots within the secondary and could be used in a variety of roles.
Right now, he’s looking like a solid Round 2 target with the chance of slipping into the back end of Round 1.
