No. 2: Brandon Aiyuk’s Favorite Food Is…

Being an NFL athlete is a constant battle between doing what’s best for the body and what the mind, and stomach, want to do.

And in Brandon Aiyuk, getting himself into a position where he could compete at the highest levels included cutting out his favorite food.

Fried chicken.

Yes, the greasiest of comfort foods is what Aiyuk likes the most. But to get into proper shape ahead of his senior year at Arizona State, the wide receiver elected to give up his favorite grub in order to pack on more muscle and increase his physique to 210 pounds.

It must have worked.

Aiyuk’s senior year with the Sun Devils was about as productive as anyone could have asked for. He finished the year with an outstanding 1,192 receiving yards on 65 catches with eight touchdowns.

Hopefully, at least once in a brief while, the 49ers’ player cafeteria can offer up Aiyuk the occasional fried chicken treat.
