No. 3: 49ers @ Seahawks, Week 8

San Francisco finally turned the tide last year of an elongated losing streak to the Seahawks at CenturyLink Field, one which dated back all the way to 2011.

And, boy. What a thriller that Week 17 game was last year. Thank you, linebacker Dre Greenlaw.

Despite the 49ers turning the page on what had been a terrible stretch of road games up north, the splits over the last decade don’t speak well to what the Niners have endured on the road against their NFC West rivals.

Given this is a Week 8 game, there won’t be anywhere near as much pressure as a division-deciding contest to wrap up the regular season. But wins in November count just as much as ones in December, meaning the ramifications stemming from this contest between two arch-rivals will carry some serious weight.

Seattle will want to enact some of its own vengeance for what transpired at CenturyLink Field late last season, too.

While the Cardinals are ascending, the Seahawks still pose the biggest threat to San Francisco’s newfound hold on the NFC West, and quarterback Russell Wilson and Co. will want to establish a tone as soon as possible in an attempt to unseat the 49ers in the divisional race.
