No. 1: As previously mentioned, Joe Staley signed three contracts in his career. None were more meaningful than his final one.
Thirteen years. Almost 200 total games. And now we’ve reached the end of an incredible career. Joe Staley has seen the darkest years of the organization and he’s been within a few plays of winning not only one, but two Super Bowls.
In June 2019, Staley signed his final contract with the 49ers, officially making him a “Niner for life.”
With general manager John Lynch and family by his side, Staley excitedly stated he’s a “niner for life.”

This video shows more about Staley than any other one we’ve shared. You can see how relieved he was to sign this contract. His kids were extremely happy for him to stay, even if they didn’t fully understand the process.
This video should show future 49er players and fans, this franchise is something special. There are going to be dark times. There are going to be trying times, but Staley lasting 13 years and being excited to retire as a Niner, means this organization is on the upwards trend.

There isn’t much else to say except for this: Thank you, Joe. All the best in retirement and see you around Levi’s.
