A+. . . . DALLAS COWBOYS

Team needs

Cornerback Byron Jones was a cap casualty so the Cowboys needed to find a replacement there, as well as one at center for the retired Travis Frederick.

The other major need was to find young pass-rushing talent.

2020 NFL Draft class

  • No. 17: CeeDee Lamb, Wide Receiver, Oklahoma
  • No. 51: Trevon Diggs, Cornerback, Alabama
  • No. 82: Neville Galimore, Defensive Tackle, Oklahoma
  • No. 123: Reggie Robinson, Cornerback, Tulsa
  • No. 146: Tyler Biadasz, Center, Wisconsin
  • No. 179: Bradlee Anae, EDGE, Utah
  • No. 231: Ben DiNucci, Quarterback, James Madison

Draft review

What a draft for Dallas. The Cowboys found needs for all three positions and they were all bargains. Trevon Diggs could have been picked at their initial pick at No. 17 with little problems, Tyler Biadasz was a steal at No. 146 and Bradlee Anae had no business being on the board at No. 179.

The steals don’t end there. Some teams had CeeDee Lamb as the top receiver in the league and Dallas pounced on him. Neville Galimore could have been a top-50 pick, while Reggie Robinson is a boom-or-bust prospect.

What the Cowboys do with DiNucci will be interesting, is he a backup or someone they want to develop and trade? Either way, it’s well worth a late flyer in the seventh round.

All in all, it was a draft worth of bargains while filling several key needs.
