No. 1: CB Kindle Vildor, Georgia Southern

Georgia Southern cornerback Kindle Vildor was profiled previously at Niner Noise as a late-round sleeper prospect, and for good reason.

After running a 4.44 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine and pushing pushing 225-pound bench press 22 times, Vildor makes up for a lack of height (5-foot-11) with good strength to compete on the NFL level.

Vildor plays well in man coverage and contests well. He also has a good combination of athleticism and ball-tracking skills and recognition, allowing him to play fast and smart. Vildor is around the ball a lot, too, as his three-year collegiate total of 94 tackles, nine interceptions and 25 pass breakups attest to.

Vildor is a defensive back coach’s dream, and could surprise given a fair opportunity to play. With a number of 49ers cornerbacks currently pending to hit free agency in 2021, it would behoove the Niners to take a few players to compete in the secondary.
