878. . Tackle. Hawkeyes . Tristan Wirfs. 4. player

If you want to know which pick breaks the draft wide open, it’s No. 4. The New York Giants could go with one of the tackles, linebacker Isaiah Simmons or defensive tackle Derrick Brown with equal justification.

I think tackle is the go here. Iowa’s Tristan Wirfs went from a lesser prospect most thought would go to guard to arguably the top tackle on the board. The Giants need to protect second-year quarterback Daniel Jones so he doesn’t fumble as much.

Wirfs went from a prospect scouts thought might have to move to guard, to one of the top tackles in the draft and possibly the first tackle taken overall.

Iowa has taught him well to be a tackle at the pro level, and his blocking skills are definitely good enough to be picked at this juncture.

If nothing else, Wirfs will be versatile enough to play any position except center for the Giants.
