When people are talking about the top guard prospects in an admittedly underwhelming guard class, people don’t tend to talk about Ohio State’s Jonah Jackson.

Jackson had a great Senior Bowl that put him on the map, and he looks to be a solid selection who can be a backup before evolving to be a starter.

After being one of the top linemen in the Senior Bowl practices, Jackson looks to be drafted on the third day of the draft.

Jackson has a good build at 6-foot-3 and 310 pounds and has the versatility to play either guard position. Ohio State has prepared him well for the pro levels, too, with his technique

The 49ers are in need of depth on the interior offensive line, as well as a rookie to compete for the vacant starting role at right guard, and Jackson fits that mold.

As far as developmental linemen go, the Niners can go a lot worse than Jackson.
