No. 3: Getting instant production out of Kyle Shanahan’s 2020 rookie class

One hallmark of the John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan era is the amazing production the 49ers can get out of rookies.

From the highly touted to undrafted free agents, there’s not been a position that hasn’t seen a rookie step it up in some form in the Lynch/Shanahan regime.

Performances from the young studs in the 49ers lineup, whether they’re instant starters or depth players, were integral to the team turning in a 13-3 record and Super Bowl appearance.

The Niners are in two different situations in the draft here. They possess two picks in Round 1 with pick Nos. 13 and 31, but then will not pick until the third day of the draft.

Of course, the team could choose to trade down with either of those picks and reclaim some draft capital as well. But either way, it’s all down to whether the team can continue to get their impressive rookie production out of the 2020 class as well.
