2020 NFL Draft: 32-pick Round 1 mock with 49ers selecting twice
By Peter Panacy
The Tennessee Titans are surprisingly in a position to compete right now after shocking everyone and making it all the way to the AFC Championship game last year.
One of the more surprising moves, however, was to let go of perennial Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jurrell Casey and then replace him with former underachieving Falcons pass-rusher Vic Beasley.
Beasley could benefit from the change in scenery, yes. But if the Titans want to bolster their pass rush to the level it was during their playoff run, they’ll need to land some additional help, particularly off the edge.
There’s been a run on edge rushers late in Round 1 of the NFL Draft, and there’s not a lot of likable options in later rounds.
So if Tennessee wants to make a move to address this, it’ll have to go after LSU EDGE K’Lavon Chaisson.
Chaisson is pretty raw and will need some refinement at the pro level before reaching his true potential. But it’s impossible not to recognize the sheer intangibles suggesting he could emerge as a prolific defensive force at the pro level for many, many years.
