The Jaguars need plenty of help on the defensive side of the ball, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see Jacksonville go with yet another front-seven player in Round 1 of the NFL Draft after acquiring this pick from the Los Angeles Rams in the trade for Jalen Ramsey.

With Ramsey and A.J. Bouye both gone, there are more than a number of holes to fill in the secondary, however, and it would be a shock if the Jaguars didn’t grab a cornerback early.

Perhaps two.

The first-level tier of cornerbacks is already gone, but Utah’s Jaylon Johnson is a nice piece to add towards the latter end of Round 1. He’s got the right build and has enough speed to keep up with most NFL-level wide receivers. And unlike many collegiate cornerbacks, Johnson isn’t afraid at all to offer his help in run defense.

Johnson has the potential to start right away, which is what the Jaguars need right now.
