2020 NFL Draft: 32-pick Round 1 mock with 49ers selecting twice
By Peter Panacy
The Dolphins already made their selection at quarterback, finding the cornerstone for the future in Tua Tagovailoa.
With the pick Miami grabbed from the Pittsburgh Steelers in the trade that sent defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick packing last year, the Dolphins can go with quite a luxury move in the second half of Round 1.
Usually, running backs are no longer viewed as top-tier first-round options in the NFL Draft any longer. But the Raiders made an early move for running back Josh Jacobs last year, and that worked out well.
Plus, many young quarterbacks rely heavily on an excellent running game. While adding the veteran, Jordan Howard, will help, finding someone with a bit more potential and long-term impact would be a fun and exciting move.
And there are no other running backs as exciting as Georgia’s D’Andre Swift in this year’s NFL Draft.
Swift can do it all, run in power, run in zone and has the vision to explode for long carries any time he touches the ball.
Suddenly the Dolphins offense is starting to take shape.
