The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are suddenly looking like legitimate playoff contenders after moving on from quarterback Jameis Winston and replacing him with none other than future Hall of Famer Tom Brady in free agency.

This changes everything for the Bucs, who are in a position to win now and take advantage of a very fluid NFC South.

Left tackle looks to be locked down by Donovan Smith, but the situation at right tackle is far less certain. Backup tackle Joe Haeg seems to be the favorite to start there, which certainly isn’t an ideal situation for Brady and the offense.

The NFL Draft’s early run on tackles hurts a bit, yes. But Georgia’s Andrew Thomas was once considered to be the top tackle in this year’s class. His stock might have slipped a bit, and one could wonder if he’s going to be much better in run support than pass protection, which is what the Bucs need.

Still, Thomas would be a major upgrade over Haeg and would help alleviate a lot of concerns about Brady being on the ground this season.
