2020 NFL Draft: 3 out-of-box picks 49ers could make in Round 1

Unlike 2018, the Niners dealt with some severe attrition and injury along their offensive line. Both tackles, Mike McGlinchey and Joe Staley, missed significant amounts of time. Right guard Mike Person was banged up late in the year, and center Weston Richburg suffered a knee injury which shelved him on injured reserve.
Staley hasn’t shown any signs of retiring this offseason. But Person has zero in guaranteed money in 2020, which points to a possible upgrade and/or cap casualty.
And one could make the argument San Francisco could upgrade the O-line’s interior this offseason anyway.
Wisconsin has a long, proud history of producing top-tier linemen ready made for NFL ranks. This year, center Tyler Biadasz sits atop many interior blocker rankings for the NFL Draft, and his lateral movement skills suggest he’ll be an excellent fit for the kind of scheme the 49ers operate.
Especially if the Niners are looking for someone with great run-blocking skills and who can do more than just hold his own in pass protection.
Biadasz seems to be all over the place in big-board rankings, going from the middle of Round 1 all the way into the early phases of the third round in some mocks and boards. And while it might seem like a reach for San Francisco to grab Biadasz at No. 31 overall, he would supply quite the interior O-line upgrade, capable of starting at guard right away and potentially securing the starting center job over Richburg, should that day arrive.
The 2020 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 23.
