49ers 2020 NFL Draft needs: Ranking top 5 wide receiver options
By Timmy Gibson
Next is Tee Higgins from Clemson. Clemson is known for its elite wide receivers, and Higgins seems set to be next from the school that has produced stars like DeAndre Hopkins and Mike Williams.
Like Michael Pittman, Higgins has the size to be the kind of big-bodied receiver the Niners need, standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 215 pounds. Higgins is a junior, and had elite production this past season, with 59 receptions for 1,167 yards and 13 touchdowns.
That’s an average of 19.8 yards per reception.
Also like Pittman, Higgins can fight for the ball and make physical catches. However, despite the similarities, Higgins is widely considered a superior prospect to Pittman. Higgins played at a better school, has better touchdown numbers and has played multiple times on college football’s biggest stage. Higgins has all of the pieces to become an elite NFL wide receiver, although he is not as much of a finished prospect as some of the other receivers in his class.
Higgins is one of the best receivers available in the 2020 NFL Draft. Plus, he is a great fit for a 49ers team which needs size and athleticism at the receiver position. Finally, Higgins is likely to be available when the Niners pick in the draft, so make sure to keep your eyes on Higgins on draft night.
