No. 2: Grant Delpit, LSU Tigers

A hyped prospect, Grant Delpit looks like a sure first-round pick in the NFL Draft, but the only question is where will he be picked?

Delpit has been a ballhawk for LSU in the last two seasons with seven interceptions. He’s also had 16 pass deflections, seven sacks and 14 tackles for loss in that time.

In short, he knows how to makes plays on the football.

Delpit is a versatile defender with his ability to blitz, make plays on the football, play in either man or zone coverage and be an eighth man in the box. His football IQ is shown by the plays he makes on the field, and he leaves nothing on it, either.

The only knock on Delpit is his tackling. It’s simply not very good. He’s frustrating to watch in this regard, and if he could only fix this then the sky will be the limit.

Can the 49ers get Delpit? It’s unlikely but not impossible. He’s no longer the top safety on the board, and you can never be sure who falls.

Delpit is one to keep an eye on, he very well could be too good to pass up if he slides to No. 31.
