No. 3: Jonah Jackson, Guard, Ohio State

Similar to Troy Pride Jr., Jonah Jackson is a player that looked set for the later rounds before a big Senior Bowl may have pushed him into contention into the middle of the draft.

Michael Renner of Pro Football Focus reported that Jackson might be the only offensive lineman from the Senior Bowl not to be convincingly beaten in the one-on-ones.

Listed at 6-foot-3 and 310 pounds, Jackson fits what you what in an offensive guard. He has size, strength and developed technique from Ohio State after transferring from Rutgers.

What will appeal to teams is his versatility. He can play at either guard position, and has played guard for Rutgers. He finished his collegiate career strong at the Buckeyes, and the Senior Bowl has continued his momentum.

If he has a strong pro day and NFL Combine, it would be very interesting to see where Jackson ends up going. Interior blocking is more important than ever now, with plays being broken up much quicker with strong interior pressure as opposed to pressure from the edge.

Right now, Jackson seems to be hovering between a Day 2/Day 3 selection, but if he continues his momentum he could end up being a second-round selection or even a dark horse to be picked on Thursday night.

The 49ers are currently set at guard, but they do need depth desperately as the 49ers did not carry a lot of reserve linemen. Having someone as versatile as Jackson could help relieve that pressure.
