No. 5: Kyle Shanahan vs. Andy Reid

No matter how good or bad your team is, the best coached team is always the one that has the first advantage in any game. For Super Bowl LIV, we’re privileged to see two offensive geniuses at work.

One coach with a powerful passing offense vs. one that has turned back the clock with a strong rushing attack. Both seeking redemption for past Super Bowl defeats. Both arguably the top offensive mind of their respective conferences.

Yes, Kyle Shanahan vs. Andy Reid may be the most important matchup in this Super Bowl.

Both coaches are masters at dissecting defenses and exploiting them with their respective weapons. Patrick Mahomes has been unstoppable in the playoffs, while the 49ers’ running game has gone around, through and sometimes over any defender unfortunate enough to get caught out of position.

Super Bowl LIV will be a question of which team can execute its offense more efficiently.

If San Francisco are better at running the ball, they can control the clock and limit how many times Mahomes runs the offense. If Kansas City executes better, they can put a lot of points on the board and outscore San Francisco, no matter what Shanahan draws up.
