QUARTERBACK . B. . .

I aspire to be Jimmy Garoppolo. I would love to be paid a ton of money to hand the ball to somebody else and still comfortably make it to the Super Bowl.

I mean how do you even grade someone who became the world’s most highly paid delivery boy? All he had to do was not drop the ball when the 49ers rammed it down the throat of Green Bay.

It’s not a criticism; after all he can hardly be blamed for the running game being so dominant. But it doesn’t really give one much to go on.

Garoppolo went 6-for-8 passing for 77 yards. He did fine when asked to throw, with a screen to Raheem Mostert late in the game effectively shutting the door on any unlikely Green Bay comeback.

Garoppolo didn’t do much. He didn’t do much. Nobody cares that he didn’t have to do much.

A+. . . . RUNNING BACK

I cannot type enough words to convey just how impressive Mostert was in this game, and likely anyone who watched the game doesn’t even need my words to see for themselves.

It was not only a career day, but a record day for the player who was cut by six different teams in little over a year. Mostert ran through, around and over any Packers defender unfortunate enough to stand in his way.

One Packers defender tried to knock him down to stop a fourth touchdown run, but Mostert ended up knocking him down instead.

Mostert finished with 220 yards from 29 carries and four touchdowns. He also caught two passes for six yards. His 220 yards set a franchise record in rushing yards, and rank second in NFL Playoffs history.

To round off the running backs, Tevin Coleman and Matt Breida had minimal impact as the 49ers kept feeding Mostert.

Coleman actually ran hard and was much better than his 21 yards off six carries indicated, but a dislocated shoulder ended his game early. Breida was not a factor with only one carry for two yards.
