Power ranking 49ers 10 best players in 2019 regular season
No. 3: Nick Bosa
Forget EDGE Nick Bosa being a king among rookies, he’s already one of the top defenders in the NFL after his rookie season.
Bosa came into the league with incredible hype as arguably the best player in the rookie class. Little did people know that Bosa would surpass even these lofty standards as he planted his flag on the NFL.
People might look at Bosa having only nine sacks and scoff, but people who just look at sack totals often don’t see the big picture.
Bosa was rated the top rookie in the NFL by Pro Football Focus, led by his 80 total pressures for the year (far and away the most pressures by a defensive rookie since PFF started recording this statistic).
Bosa also had 16 tackles for loss and 25 quarterback hits despite starting the season with a bad ankle that didn’t heal properly for the first month of the season. He also produced one of the interceptions of the season with his leaping pick of Carolina Panthers quarterback Kyle Allen.
It’ll be an exciting ride to see Bosa in the playoffs this season.
