No. 4: Running back Raheem Mostert

Back in September, who would have guessed Raheem Mostert would be the most important running back on the 49ers roster? Mostert ended the season as the team’s leading rusher and led the entire NFL in yards per attempt with an average of 5.6 per carry.

He also had eight rushing touchdowns despite receiving less than 10 rushing attempts in nine out of 16 of San Francisco’s games.

It’s no secret head coach Kyle Shanahan‘s offense is most effective when the running game is the focal point. This makes Mostert arguably the most important offensive player moving forward throughout the 2020 NFL playoffs.

Expect Mostert to continue to run the ball effectively behind a healthy offensive line and the league’s top blocking tight end. Shanahan will continue to implement creative ways to deceive the opposing defense leading to big yardage on the ground.

Mostert will be going up against elite NFC defenses, but don’t expect this to be enough slow him down throughout the playoffs.
