No. 3: Seahawks Could Be Lurking Again

There’s an excellent chance the 49ers and Seahawks could square off for Round 3 of their 2019-20 rivalry bouts, which currently are divvied up 1-1 between the two squads, of course.

And Niners fans need no reminder what happened the last time San Francisco and Seattle played a third game in the season.

The majority of 49ers fans are probably hoping for the Seahawks to get bounced from the playoffs in the Wild Card round, as they have to travel to take on the NFC East winners, the Philadelphia Eagles, on Jan. 5. The Action Network currently lists the Seahawks as one-point favorites, so there you go.

Either way, the worry and stress factors for San Francisco fans probably aren’t so much centered around whether or not the team can beat Seattle — it can — but rather if something like what took place between these two squads back in Week 10, when the Seahawks pulled off their overtime win at Levi’s Stadium, could repeat.

And after all, both the 49ers and Seahawks’ regular-season games were literally decided on the final play of the contest.

While there surely would be satisfaction for Niners fans to return the Jan. 2014 favor of eliminating Seattle in the postseason, it seems most would rather avoid the opposite chance altogether.
