No. 2: Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo Securing His Playoff Moment

For those who were doubting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo over the course of the season, they’re running out of question marks.

Garoppolo finished the 2019 regular season with a 69.1 completion percentage, which was tied for fourth best among qualifiers, as well as posting a 102.0 passer rating, which ranked eighth. On top of that, Garoppolo’s 3,978 yards passing earned him the No. 4 spot on the 49ers’ all-time single-season list in this category, surpassed only by Hall of Famer Steve Young (twice) and former quarterback Jeff Garcia.

And anyone who watched Garoppolo’s efforts against the Saints or Arizona Cardinals this season knows he’s capable of putting the team on his shoulders.

Still, there are those who won’t be satisfied with Jimmy G’s efforts until he proves even more in the postseason.

That’s where the legends are made, right?

Fortunately, Garoppolo is in some good company. Garcia, Young and the legend, Joe Montana, all had their signature postseason moments. All Garoppolo needed was the opportunity.

Now he’ll get it, and hopefully then some.
