No. 2: The 49ers lose Super Bowl XLVII

Oh, so close. So very, very close.

It was a great Super Bowl for the neutral, but not as a 49ers fan. The team fell at the last hurdle to lose 34-31 to the Baltimore Ravens.

It was a loss that hurt, and turned into what was the beginning of the end for this particular era for San Francisco.
