No. 3: Raheem Mostert Would Be an Offensive Standout

What do you know? Another undrafted free agent on this list.

Running back Raheem Mostert wasn’t initially grabbed by the 49ers, of course, spending his first two seasons at the NFL level bouncing around with a number of different teams before San Francisco grabbed him late in 2016. And after that, Mostert was primarily used as a gunner on special teams. Nothing more.

Mostert saw some increased looks on offense in 2018, but his offensive breakout year has been this season. Thanks to his combination of speed and elusiveness, Mostert has been a weapon Kyle Shanahan can’t afford to leave out of his game planning.

And speaking of predictions you never would have made, Mostert actually leads all Niners rushers with 715 yards and six touchdowns.

You likely would have guessed the other two running backs, Matt Breida or Tevin Coleman, would have led San Francisco in the yardage department.

Nope. It’s been Mostert, and Shanahan’s ground attack is much better because of it.
