No. 4: Jaquiski Tartt vs. Jacob Hollister

The injury-front news doesn’t just affect the Seahawks, as the 49ers have been tasked with navigating a questionable secondary the past few weeks.

One of the chief injuries San Francisco had to deal with was starting strong safety Jaquiski Tartt‘s rib injury, which has kept him out of the lineup ever since the Niners’ Week 13 bout with the Baltimore Ravens. In his place, the 49ers have started second-year pro Marcell Harris with mixed results.

On the positive side, Tartt was able to return to practice ahead of Sunday’s bout, meaning there’s a good chance he’ll suit up and reclaim his starting role.

It’s a good thing, too, as he’ll have primary coverage duties against Seahawks tight end Jacob Hollister, who has become a notable threat for Russell Wilson this season.

In Week 10, the last time these two teams met, Hollister hurt the 49ers to the tune of eight catches for a career-high 62 yards and a touchdown. Tartt already saw a bit of Hollister during that contest, of course, meaning there should be some familiarity.

Still, Tartt locking down a budding Seattle threat would be vital in determining Sunday’s outcome.
