49ers big board for 2020 NFL Draft: Bowl games edition
Pros:
- Absolute mauler in both the run and passing game
- Real leader at Wisconsin despite only being a redshirt sophomore
- Can diagnose defensive schemes easily
- Good mobility enables him to slide well laterally
- Great football IQ
- Looks to be a Week 1 starter
Cons:
- Length might be a touch too short, making him reliant on technique
- Occasionally his base is a bit wrong, giving him difficulties
An absolute mauler, Tyler Biadasz might be the best interior blocker since the Indianapolis Colts’ Quenton Nelson. A big call for sure, but there’s so very few weaknesses that can be seen in film of Biadasz at Wisconsin.
Biadasz is smart, a leader, mobile, physically filled out and powerful. He’s a definite Week 1 starter for teams looking for their center of the future.
Superlatives cannot do Biadasz justice in how good he is. Wisconsin has set him up well to be a pro, and his specialty may be his run blocking as the Badgers are a running-based program.
The 49ers, a running team themselves, are a perfect fit for such a mauler. As mentioned, Weston Richburg cannot remain healthy and the 49ers need a viable option right away and a center for the future.
Biadasz fills both of these requirements.
Sometimes Biadasz has an inconsistent base which makes plays more difficult for him and he doesn’t have outstanding arm length, but these are nitpicks that would be irrelevant with great technique and coaching which he’s already had.
Draft range: First round
There’s no doubt Biadasz deserves to be a first rounder, but teams can be hesitant to draft interior linemen early on. There’s a chance Biadasz could fall to the 49ers, who should not hesitate to make him their pick if the opportunity presents itself.
