L, 27-24 vs. Seahawks (OT)

Week 10 was a game of “what ifs” for the 49ers, who were missing Pro Bowl tight end George Kittle and veteran kicker Robbie Gould, who were out with injuries.

Gould’s backup, Chase McLaughlin, missed a would-be overtime game winner, and Seattle didn’t make the same mistake. As a result, the Niners drop a couple of spots in our NFL power rankings.

San Francisco made plenty of other mistakes, though, including three lost turnovers and plenty of drops from its wide receivers. Those won’t help, especially considering the NFC West is much closer now with Seattle’s victory.

The 49ers have a short week ahead of their contest with the Cardinals, then have to worry about the Packers before road games against the Ravens and Saints later in the season.

And a Week 17 road bout against those Seahawks could ultimately determine who winds up on top in a tough division.
