New England Patriots. 2. team. 47. . 8-1. Previous:
L, 37-20 @ Ravens
How about that? The Patriots are no longer No. 1 in our NFL power rankings. And they’re no longer undefeated after falling to the Ravens on Sunday Night Football.
The Pats made some uncharacteristic mistakes often during their prime-time road bout. Granted, New England’s defense did about all it could against Lamar Jackson and Co. But a couple of key turnovers lost, and some general inefficiency from Tom Brady, meant the Patriots take a slight hit.
Even if it’s only for a short while.
Speaking of New England’s offense, a game like this could have benefited from a stout running game. Especially with the Patriots trying to limit Jackson’s presence on the field. In total, however, the Pats had just 74 yards on the ground and averaged a mere 4.4 yards per carry.
New England will bounce back. Don’t think otherwise. But the Pats suffer their first setback of the season.
