In another “what could have been story,” it appears as if the Tennessee Titans’ joint union with quarterback Marcus Mariota is coming to an unceremonious end.

Mariota, who’ll hit free agency this offseason, has already been replaced as a starter by the former Dolphins signal-caller, Ryan Tannehill, who is probably a better short-term option between now and when the Titans have someone else ready to take over starting duties.

With the theme of rising quarterbacks leading up to the NFL Draft, one of the next names to watch is Georgia’s Jake Fromm.

Fromm has an excellent football IQ, although he doesn’t have the arm strength or elite-level accuracy to wind up being a top-tier option.

Still, he’d be the kind of quarterback worth using a mid first-round pick on, which is what the Titans can do at No. 17.
