No. 4: Kwon Alexander’s injury potentially hurts

As of writing, linebacker Kwon Alexander seems to have a good chance of not missing significant time, as per Matt Maiocco:

This was also backed up by Jennifer Lee Chan, who reported Alexander to be in great spirits:

If Alexander does have a torn pectoral, his season will surely be over. His sideline to sideline speed is as important to the 49ers defense as their vaunted defensive line, and the defense would be seriously downgraded.

If he isn’t injured seriously, San Francisco dodges a bullet and the team can return to full health discounting the players on injured reserve.

If he is, the 49ers may be in serious trouble defensively.

Editor’s Update: Alexander suffered a torn pectoral muscle, and his 2019 season is now over.
