49ers Special Teams and Coaching Grades
Kicking: B+
Robbie Gould barely had to hit the field because of the 49ers offensive success. He made his only field-goal attempt and all his point-after attempts. However, one PAT was botched before Gould could get involved. In the end, though, it all worked out.
Punting: A
Mitch Wishnowsky absolutely leveled a man on a kick return, even garnering a flag for lowering the helmet. How could he not get an A grade?
Jokes aside, Wishnowsky punted well when he had to. The average of 40.3 isn’t great, but all three of his punts were downed inside the 20-yard line, so it all worked out.
Coaching: A+
The only issue with Kyle Shanahan’s offense has been the red-zone inefficiency. That went away against the Panthers.
On the other side, defensive coordinator Robert Saleh had Kyle Allen in fits the entire game. The 49ers coaching staff put on a clinic on how to attack a team. It looked like the 49ers were coming off a bye, not the Panthers.

It’s not always the 49ers play so well. When everyone walks away with high grades, it’s been a phenomenal day.
