49ers Week 6 Injury Report

Injuries are going to play a major role for both squads this weekend.

For the Rams, they could be without Todd Gurley. Cornerback Aqib Talib (ribs) missed practice and has been ruled out, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. EDGE Clay Matthews suffered a broken jaw last week, and he’s out. Wide receiver Brandin Cooks has been limited after suffering a concussion, too.

One could argue the Niners’ slate of injuries are more critical.

Missing both starting tackles hurts San Francisco, yes. Especially with McGlinchey’s latest setback. Rookie tackle Justin Skule has held his own well enough in Staley’s stead the last two weeks, but fellow backup tackle Daniel Brunskill remains a relative unknown.

Kyle Shanahan said he expects Kittle able to play Sunday.

He’ll get the nod in place of McGlinchey.

Juszczyk’s absence likely forces Kyle Shanahan to rely more on the pass game, which is something the 49ers haven’t done much this season. The fullback’s role is so vital, there’s no easy swap or fix.

Which leads us to the matchups you’ll want to watch for the game.
