WR Dante Pettis

Wide receiver Dante Pettis seemingly cannot catch a break, whether by self-inflicted wounds or Kyle Shanahan. In a game where the Browns were missing both their starting corners, the 49ers wide receivers should have feasted, even in limited opportunities.

While some played very well, like Marquise Goodwin, others like Pettis failed to show out.

Pettis dropped a would-be touchdown near the end of the game and basically made no noticeable impact, despite playing the most snaps at wide receiver.

Pettis has not been in the league long enough to be called a bust, but he needs to start producing far more. His play didn’t affect the team Monday, but the 49ers need a player to emerge, and it’s looking less and less likely it would be Pettis.

The 49ers won, and they won big. But the level of miscues they had while winning proves that the sky really is the limit for this team.
