W, 31-3 vs. Browns

There’s no denying it any longer: the 49ers are for real this season.

In front of a national audience on Monday Night Football, the Niners completely dominated the Browns 31-3, holding Cleveland to a mere 180 yards of total offense and a 1-of-11 mark on third downs.

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was OK during the contest, better than Baker Mayfield, but the true stars of the game for San Francisco were running backs Matt Breida and Tevin Coleman. Breida found the end zone twice, while Coleman also scored. And the ground game, such a staple for head coach Kyle Shanahan’s offense, churned out 275 yards during the contest.

But the 49ers defense has been stellar this season, too, sacking Mayfield four times, forcing three fumbles, two of which were recovered by San Francisco, and then picking the quarterback off twice.

And if there was ever a revenge game for rookie EDGE Nick Bosa, looking to avenge Ohio State’s loss to Mayfield and the Oklahoma Sooners back in 2017, tonight was it.

Bosa is the real deal. So is San Francisco.
