No. 3: EDGE Carl Nassib

The 49ers already have good outside pass-rushers, namely in Nick Bosa and Dee Ford. But when you think you’ve got enough pass-rushers, it’s always good to add another.

Especially the reserve situational ones.

San Francisco might not have to do so this offseason, especially if it re-signs pending free-agent defensive end Ronald Blair, who has been one of the team’s better defenders early this season. But if Blair hits the open market, or if the Niners look to move on from Solomon Thomas, finding another decent low-risk pass-rushing option would be a wise move.

EDGE Carl Nassib is a player worth looking at, particularly because his relative lack of use over the past few years will keep his price tag low.

Still, it’s hard to ignore the 6.5 sacks he had with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season. And if he improves upon those numbers in 2019, his stock value should rise enough.

Nassib would be the perfect kind of depth player, keeping stock with what the 49ers have had success so far in 2019: a good defensive line rotation.
