W, 13-10 vs. Chargers

The Detroit Lions manage a nice little climb in our NFL power rankings after knocking off the visiting Los Angeles Chargers for their first win of the season.

And from the Lions’ vantage point, they’re still undefeated on the year. That’s a good thing, right?

But Detroit’s climb has more to do with some of the other teams’ struggles behind them, rather than anything special the Lions have done this season. Their win over the Chargers wasn’t particularly impressive, especially considering quarterback Matthew Stafford’s pedestrian efforts and the lack of any serious rush attack.

One could also make the argument Los Angeles lost this game more than Detroit won it.
