49ers Week 2 Injury Report

Nick Bosa being healthy is something the Niners are surely hoping for in Week 2.

Bosa might not see the same number of snaps in Cincinnati, perhaps being used solely on third-down nickel formations, which is what NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco told KNBR 680’s Murph and Mac Show Thursday morning.

“He’s been a little sore recovering from the game than we anticipated,” head coach Kyle Shanahan also told KNBR (h/t 49ers Webzone). “We’ve had these last two practices on turf, too, which we also want to be a little bit smart about with some people when they’re coming back from injuries.”

Still, Shanahan is optimistic Bosa will see the field.

Here are the rest of the 49ers Week 2 injuries:

Both Taylor and Coleman are expected to be out a while longer, so their placement on the injury report for Week 2 isn’t surprising. Absent from the injury report, however, is cornerback Jason Verrett, whose ankle injury kept him out of the lineup for Week 1.

Verrett practiced fully and is expected to make his debut in Cincinnati.

Ward, who suffered a broken finger just ahead of Week 1, could have a tough time unseating second-year pro Tarvarius Moore from the starting free safety job.

Moore broke up a key goal-line pass attempt against the Buccaneers, and his speed could be a major factor in Week 2 against one particular Bengals wide receiver.

Speaking of those matchups…
