NFL power rankings: Post-preseason 32-team breakdown before Week 1
By Peter Panacy
Say what you might, but there hasn’t been a lot coming out from the Pittsburgh Steelers’ camp this offseason and through the preseason.
And that’s excellent news.
While now-Jets running back Le’Veon Bell seems to be adjusting well to his new arena, the same can’t be said of Antonio Brown, particularly his odd helmet issue and various non-reports to Raiders camp practices.
One might guess the Steelers will be all that better because of the lack of negative attention.
Sure, there are question marks in Pittsburgh heading into 2019. How is the secondary going to hold up? Is quarterback Ben Roethlisberger going to remain as effective without Brown and Bell in the picture? Can running back James Conner and wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster take over as the bell-cow offensive pieces this season?
If those X-factors fall into place, there’s little reason to assume the Steelers will be right back in the playoff mix come December.
